Mayor Woodford has declared September 12-18 to be “Arts In Education Week” here in Appleton and has asked the public to “observe the week with appropriate activities.” To that end, I have been posting artwork every day this week. I thought perhaps here on Day 4 I would try to focus a little more on the “education” part of Arts In Education week by highlighting the artwork that is hung up in Lawrence University’s Wriston Art Center. Currently, if you are not a member of the Lawrence community, you need to submit a request to tour the Wriston Art Gallery; however, these particular pictures are visible to anyone walking past the building—no entry required. I don’t know what the schedule is for switching out the artwork that is displayed in the Wriston front windows, but these have been up for over a year, so you may want to check them out sooner rather than later.
If you would like to see more Lawrence student artwork, you can view the virtual 2021 Senior Art Show from the comfort of your own home/coffee shop/whatever online here: https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=WzrXDzLNfBo
