The Appleton Common Council is meeting 09/15/2021 at 7PM.
Amongst other things, there will be a library project update and a Covid-19 update as well as two reappointments (one to the Appleton Redevelopment Authority and one to the City Plan Commission).
Although one never knows exactly what items will be separated from the agenda for individuals votes, I would expect Resolution #13-R-21 Support For Resettlement Of Afghanistan Parolees In Appleton to be voted on individually. Through the committee discussion it appeared that, if passed, the resolution would not change anything. The city already seems to be responding as best it can in support of World Relief Fox Valley and other area organizations that are helping process the parolees/refugees, but there were some thoughts that a resolution of support would be more desirable than simply a proclamation.
Certainly the item regarding the alderperson salary will also be separated out for discussion. The Human Resources and Information Technology Committee voted to recommend increasing the salary from $6,221 per year to $6,750 per year effective April 2023.
Those are the two main items I can think of that warrant a discussion and separate vote. We will see if anything else is separated out.
