It is day two of “Arts In Education Week” as proclaimed by Appleton Mayor Jake Woodford. Today I would like to highlight this painting at the Tempest coffee shop. I took this photo in July of 2020 when coronavirus cases were still relatively low and had not started their precipitous autumn rise. Due to the pandemic, this was actually the last time I’ve been in Tempest for over a year. I look at this painting and I can’t help but wonder if it was trying to speak of the future–of the care, worry, and weariness that were in store for our community. Who can say?
