Common Council Approves Mayor’s Appointments To Appleton’s Redistricting Committee

On 09/01/2021 the Common Council voted 14-0 to approve Mayor Woodford’s recommended appointments to the Appleton Redistricting Committee.

As outlined in his memo to the Council, the committee is composed of 10 members, 5 of whom serve by virtue of their roles and 5 alderpersons who are appointed.

The role-based members are

  • City Clerk Kami Lynch
  • City Attorney Christopher Behrens
  • Mayor Woodford
  • The City Assessor
  • Appleton’s Geographic Information System Specialist

The Alderpersons recommended for appointment to the committee by Mayor Woodford were

  • Matt Reed (District 8), Council President
  • Katie Van Zeeland (District 5), Council Vice Presidents
  • Vered Meltzer (District 2)
  • William Siebers (District 1)
  • Michael Smith (District 10)

The appointments were approved unanimously without discussion.
