Mayor Woodford Presents 5 Proclamations At 09/01/2021 Common Council Meeting – Senior Center Month, Childhood Cancer Month, Hmong New Year, Arts In Education Week, and September 11 Remembrance Day

On 09/01/2021 during the Common Council meeting, Mayor Woodford presented 5 mayoral proclamations.

In the first, he proclaimed September to be “Senior Center Month” and encouraged “all citizens to recognize the important contributions of senior centers in the Fox Cities.”

In the second he proclaimed September to also be “Childhood Cancer Awareness Month” and encouraged “all citizens to observe Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support research to cure this disease that so deeply impacts families in every community.”

In the third he proclaimed September through December 2021 to be “Hmong New Year Season” in Appleton and commended “this observance to all city residents.”

In the fourth he proclaimed September 12-18, 2021 to be “Arts in Education Week” and called “on all City residents to observe the week with appropriate activities.”

With the fifth and final proclamation he designated September 11, 2021 to be “September 11, 2001 Remembrance Day” and commended “all citizens to remember with eternal respect those whose lives were suddenly and mercilessly taken from them on September 11, 2001. May they forever rest in peace and abide in our memories.”
