On this day last year the 7 day running average of new cases was 11.29 as compared to 12.71 this year. Last year there were 191 active cases as compared to 104 active cases this year. Deaths were 3 times higher at this time last year as compared to this year. Between the March 18 (the day of Appleton’s first official case) and August 10, there were 6 deaths last year as compared to only 2 deaths during that same time frame this year.
