In its June 4th Family Letter, the Appleton Area School District announced that, starting Monday, June 7th masks will be optional for all students and staff within school facilities and on transportation vehicles.
Other mitigation strategies such as social distancing/podding, hand sanitizing, contact tracing, and quarantine periods for students with a household member who has Covid will continue to be utilized.
Students will still be expected to screen themselves daily for symptoms before coming to school. Staff and students who have been in close contact with a COVID-positive person will no longer be required to quarantine, but they will be encouraged to monitor themselves closely for signs of illness.
