The Common Council is meeting 05/19/2021 at 7pm.
There’s honestly not a lot that stands out to me on the agenda.
The Mayor will be presenting 6 proclamations.
The Covid-19 update may be interesting in light of the CDC’s recently updated public health recommendations for fully vaccinated people.
Of note, Kyle Lobner, former Common Council President and recently unseated District 13 Alderperson, has been appointed to the Board of Review for a 1-year term. As he said in his farewell speech, “I am very excited to be taking a step back from public life for a little while, but I’m not going anywhere,” and it looks like the city will continue to benefit from his service even if he is no longer on the Common Council.
The Council will be voting on the Initial Resolution for Oak St. and Kimball St. Street Vacation, but it looks like there is no plan to separate this item out and it will be taken up as a consolidated action item. This is related to the US Venture project.
Mayor Woodford will also be presenting the APD Officer of the Year award as well as presenting a certificate of appreciation for Health Officer Kurt Eggebrecht who is retiring. His final day of employment is June 4th so this will be his last Common Council meeting.
