The Municipal Services Committee is meeting 03/08/2021 at 4:30 pm.
There are several action items including
- Review Driveway Opening Policy to possibly delete requirement #5 regarding neighboring property owners.
This was prompted by an appeal for a second curb cut that recently came before the committee and the Common Council.
2. Approve installation of standard parking meters in Soldier Square along with Passport pay-by-phone option.
Based on the feedback they received it looks like the trial of offering only the Passport pay-by-phone option didn’t go over that well.
3. Request from Appleton Downtown, Inc. for a street occupancy permit for “Fiber Rain”
The memo from Appleton Downtown, Inc mentions “reconnecting” with the Fiber Rain group. The project had seemed to somewhat fade out over the last few years, and I’ve occasionally wondered what happened to it.
4. Request from Matt Miller to bag nine (9) meters on March 17, 2021 on Lawrence Street and Walnut Street for food pick-up at McGuinness Pub. This request was administratively denied based on the Downtown Parking & Meter Bag Policy. This request will not have time to go through the Council process.
I’m curious to find out what happens when a request doesn’t have time to go through the Council Process.
There’s also an information item–the Inspection Division Permit Summary Comparison Report for February, 2021.
