The Appleton Redevelopment Authority Exhibition Center Advisory Committee is meeting 03/02/2021 at 1pm.
There are no action items.
There will be a presentation on the Exhibition Center’s booking summary as well as the feedback received from groups that have used the Fox Cities Exhibition Center. An item of note is the fact that the Expo Center actually appears to have lost less money in 2020 than in 2019. This seems to have been due to having had fewer operating expenses. They let all of their employees go in May of 2020 after it became apparent that Covid was going to be a long term issue.
The presentation touches on some of their plans to gain back business in 2021; there is a definite large convention scheduled for October of 2021.
I’m a little confused because one of the Power Point slides claims they had 72 events in 2019 but then the “Year to Date Performance and Prior Year Variance” seems to only list 35 events.
There are also a couple information items scheduled, (1) some kind of update regarding the Expo Center and COVID-19 and (2) a note that reappointments to the committee needed for those members with expiring terms.
