On 12/09/2020, Appleton reported 34 new confirmed coronavirus cases and 10 new probable cases. Active cases increased by 17. Cases out of isolation increased by 27. There were no new deaths.
It was discussed during the Board of Health meeting on 12/09/2020 that demand for testing seems to have decreased both regionally and statewide. There was some concern that our numbers artificially appear to be low due to decreased testing. It seems to me that Covid hospitalization numbers are something that would be accurate even if community cases appear artificially low due to testing. Although not specific to Appleton, Covid hospitalizations in the Fox Valley are currently continuing to decline.
