The Utilities Committee is meeting 10/27 at 5pm. On the agenda…
Revision of the municipal code to update the definition of “pollutant”.
Increase McMahon’s contract cost by $49,630. They’ve been updating the wastewater treatment plant. During the course of that work, “other critical operation and maintenance needs identified which were outside of McMahon’s original contract scope”. So the city is going to pay them $50k to deal with those issues.
There will also be some budget reviews and an update on the Service Line Warranty Program. I’m assuming they’re severing to that letter that was sent out earlier this year to Appleton homeowners offering a warranty for their sewer and water laterals t a fairly inflated price. Pro-tip, talk to the company providing your home insurance; many of them sell additional coverage for sewer and water laterals at a much lower cost than what was quoted in the letter Appleton homeowners received earlier this year.
